Okay, okay, I know I said just one resource in each publication, but the best part of any laid plan knowing when to go with the flow. If there are opportunities for you to promote your intelligence and share your gifts, I’m going to put them here (still once a week).
On average, every time I participate in a virtual speaking event or summit, I get several new business leads and many lead to at least one, new client. It’s because there’s a direct fit of people looking to learn from what you do, building a connection with you and identifying opportunities to work with you. When you put in the effort and take every speaking opportunity seriously, it pays off.
This week’s focus: Virtual speaking to build your influence and reach
I’m turning this “single idea” into a comprehensive list of things you can do to promote and up your speaking game:
Add “Professional Speaker,” or “Keynote Speaker” to your Linkedin profile and other online bios (you can even include it in your Twitter bio).
Create a speaker page on your website to showcase your speaking talents and prior events. (Don’t have any yet? Record yourself talking about topics and include the links there, too.)
Register in places, like SpeakerHub or MySpeakingAgent
Find your industry leaders and see all of the places they’re speaking. Apply in those exact places.
Speaking isn’t your thing? That’s okay. It’s why each week I focus on different areas and aspects (last week it was a Master Guest Post List).
