calendar of the internet, essential new video tool and Google's dirty words
Good Wednesday morning (or afternoon or evening). With this being all about practicality, let’s get right to it.
Calendar of the internet: Forekast
You know how you have an idea and then you’re just too lazy (or overworked) to actually create and implement it? Well, the team at Forekast created something in an even better variety than I would have come up with.
It’s a monthly calendar of major events that you can add to your calendar. I met with one of their team members to share my “wish list” of tools to take this to the next level (like the ability to expert a month at a time).
TIP: Reference this against your upcoming announcement, Product Hunt launch or any major moment in time.
Don’t use Google’s banned dirty words list
Learn this list so you don’t make the mistake of using something Google will penalize you for.
The list, available here, is a fairly complete discussion of terms and spellings that Google believes serves its users best. For example, 3D is 3D, not 3-D and they prefer developers not use the word "abort" and instead use "stop," "exit," "cancel," or "end."

TinyVid is the tool you didn’t know you needed
If you work in communications, journalism or gaming, you’ll immediately get the value of this one-off product from the Kamua team.
TinyVid lets you trim and compress video files to fit any size limitation.
🤩 😉
From the Maker:
The main inspiration for building TinyVid came from trying to share gameplay footage over Discord. For example, instant replay files are usually 5 minutes long and up to 2GB in size. Typically, the interesting parts are at the end and Discord Free only allows you to upload max 8MB at a time - soooo frustrating! 😤 I could not find any free tool that would quickly allow me to trim and compress 🗜️ my video while showing me a preview and allowing me to select the file size I need.
I hope you all remain safe and well.
In service,
Sarah
p.s. Have something practical and tactical you think I should feature? Always send my way.
