Good morning, good afternoon and good evening Team PR@ctical. As with all of our issues, let’s get right to it.
Confused about all things decentralized? I always go right to the experts. My favorite read last week was Shelly Palmer’s e-book: Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, NFTs & Smart Contracts: An executive guide to the world of decentralized finance (also 100% of the proceeds are being donated to Girls Who Code).
Are you hip to the audio game?
Audio is big. If you aren’t already on the audio bandwagon, it’s not too late. Where you spend your time or advise your clients to go makes a big difference moving forward. For example, jumping on Clubhouse might help you build out a brand or voice quickly OR you could go a niche route and look to topical audio spaces, like Public’s new Public Live that only focuses on investing.
If you haven’t yet, invest time in thinking about your audio strategy. It’s great because you don’t have to be camera ready!
As part of your audio strategy, here are a few thought starters for you:
-Owned or earned: Do you want to start your own channel(s) or do you want to be a professional audio guest? In either instance, develop your “one sheet.” This is something you can give to audio hosts, moderators or producers to show them why you’re the perfect guest. Much like with TV, develop an “audio reel,” to highlight previous audio interviews or moments you’ve been part of.
-Schedule: How much time can you dedicate to audio? It’s easy to get sucked in and start talking or listening for hours. Block off time on your calendar to listen in to your favorite audio moments or to be booked.
-Creative assets: Even audio needs a little visual. Think about what social assets you can use to highlight existing audio moments or promote upcoming ones. Check out Zealous App to help you schedule your own audio shows or to participate in backchannels.

Truly excited for the @public team and their announcement today of #PublicLive - 🗣️live audio features 🗣️three events a week 🗣️push notification to join 🗣️1st one with @profgalloway MORE on my Public profile: CC: @katieeperry @shardulgo public.com/posts/dDQV6Dro…Want to look for reactive media opps? I have a list for that:
Looking for reactive media opportunities? This means a journalist, writer or contributor who is already writing a story and is looking for expert sources.
TIP: Respond the best and respond early. You’ll be competing with dozens (and sometimes hundreds) of responses.
Here a few places journalists look for expert sources:
@helpareporter
@qwoted
@Cision
Prof Net
@TheDotStarMedia
#journorequests
@onepitchsaas
@SourceBottle
That’s a lot of places, I know. You can manage this a few ways, like:
-Dedicate someone on your team to sift through these daily (HARO is sent up to three times a day); or
-Use services, like Zapier and/or Bundle IQ to automate some of the research process.
I hope you are safe and well.
In service,
Sarah
