Good morning PR@ctical readers. Quick question — I always want to make sure this is a valuable resource for you. Is there a digital PR tool or resource for building influence you wish existed that doesn’t? Let me know and I’ll see if we can create and share it for the good of this group.
Now, onto the good stuff.
REMINDER: I keep an updated list of all Social Communications Opportunities, here.

I know I don’t need to tell you that engagement on social media can help build your influence. One of the things media look for before interviewing you is your social validation (i.e. your reach, resonance and expertise). Even tweets show up in Google Search results, so what you share DOES matter.

Why does this matter to digital PR? For three very important reasons:
—> Validation points prior to pitching. You can stop with broad or vague generalities and assumptions in pitches and social content and get specific.
—> Trends right now. Identify trends and predictions to support something you or a client provides. Share thoughts and observations with trusted journalists or subject matter experts.
—> Your content. Look for content opportunities from the content you see. Set context around a wider story or maybe solve a problem based on an area of need.
